Throughout 2022, Çï¿ûapp created and engaged with a number of initiatives to further our mission of making a lasting difference in our members’ lives. Looking beyond just improving members’ health and well-being, Çï¿ûapp targeted the root of the problem - social determinants of health - initiating and sustaining a number of programs and partnerships dedicated to being a resource to Indiana members and their communities.

Our team is committed to serving our communities every day, connecting each member to the right services and resources to address their unique needs. Here are a few ways that Çï¿ûapp advocated for and supported the health of Hoosiers in 2022.

Çï¿ûapp Foundation Supports Indiana’s Social Safety Net

In early 2022, Çï¿ûapp announced that the Çï¿ûapp Foundation provided organizations across the state in 2021 with over $627,900 to further efforts toward improving health outcomes for Hoosiers, including a BIPOC Doula Scholarship Program.

Çï¿ûapp Indiana Offers Tips to Help Prioritize Kids Health

A child’s mental health is just as important as their physical health. As back-to-school season approached, Christine Mueller, the Manager of Women and Children’s Health Outcomes at Çï¿ûapp, spoke on the importance of prioritizing your child’s mental, emotional, and physical health.

Çï¿ûapp Foundation Awards Grant to Overdose Lifeline

The Çï¿ûapp Foundation provided Overdose Lifeline, Inc. with a grant of over $178,000 to further their mission of preventing and responding to opioid overdoses in Indiana schools. With these funds from Çï¿ûapp, Overdose Lifeline will be able to increase the number of schools they serve by 275 over the next three years, providing each participating school district with naloxone, an “emergency medication” that can help to reverse an overdose from opioids.

Five Questions for Dr. Cameual Wright

Dr. Cameual Wright, vice president and market chief medical officer of Çï¿ûapp Indiana, provided her expertise by weighing in on how certain societal factors, like affordable housing, access to clean drinking water and a safe environment can positively or negatively impact infant mortality rates. Dr. Wright, alongside her Çï¿ûapp team, continues to advocate for greater maternal and infant support at the community, state and federal levels.

Milk Bank Receives Donation from Çï¿ûapp

At the height of the formula shortage, Çï¿ûapp sponsored over 1,000 ounces of breast milk through the Milk Bank’s Give an Ounce Campaign. This donation further supported the Milk Bank's efforts in providing up to 40 ounces of milk to mothers without a prescription.

Five Questions for Steve Smitherman, President of Çï¿ûapp Indiana

Steve Smitherman provided insight into the lives of caregivers as they support themselves as well as care for their loved one. Steve, who is a caregiver to a member of his own family, highlighted just how essential it is that caregivers prioritize their own health and well-being by regularly supporting their physical and mental health as well as asking for help when it is needed.

Op/Ed: Hungry? 1 in 9 Indiana Residents ― Many of them Children ― are too.

The implications of COVID-19 as well as other factors impacting Hoosiers each and every day continue to drive levels of food insecurity here in Indiana. According to Feeding America, one in nine people in Indiana face hunger. Dr. Cameual Wright and Çï¿ûapp worked to raise awareness of food insecurity and how we can help solve this problem.
